Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Eyeon Protect is a glycerin-based ophthalmic solution developed by Calm Water Therapeutics for the treatment of keratoconjunctivitis sicca, commonly known as dry eye syndrome. It functions as an ophthalmic demulcent and humectant, providing a protective film over the ocular surface and promoting moisture retention to stabilize the tear film. By increasing the residence time of moisture on the eye and reducing evaporation, it alleviates symptoms such as irritation, redness, and discomfort. Clinical studies have compared its performance in tear film stability against established lubricant eye drops containing polyethylene glycol and propylene glycol to evaluate its efficacy in managing dry eye disease.
