Overview

**EYP002** is a first-in-class small molecule series developed by ENYO Pharma that modulates the activity of NEET proteins (encoded by CISD genes), a small family of mitochondrial proteins regulating metabolism, stress responses, autophagy, and apoptosis. Initially identified through a phenotypic assay inhibiting influenza replication, it impacts mitochondrial morphogenesis and stabilizes ER-mitochondria contact sites, as demonstrated with compound MITO-C. Preclinical efficacy extends to infectious diseases, metabolic diseases (e.g., NASH), oncology, and rare genetic diseases, with IND-enabling studies planned for H2 2018 and lead optimization ongoing.[1][3][5][7]
