Overview

EYU688 is an investigational small molecule antiviral drug developed by Novartis for the treatment of dengue fever. It acts as an inhibitor of the nonstructural protein 4B (NS4B) of the dengue virus, a target involved in viral replication. Preclinical studies have shown that EYU688 is highly effective against all four serotypes of dengue virus, with EC50 values ranging from 8 to 38 nM in Vero cells and significant reduction in viremia in animal models. The drug is currently being evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials to assess its efficacy, safety, and pharmacokinetics when administered orally to patients with dengue fever[1][2][3][5][7].
