Drug intelligence / Profile preview
EZ Derm is a porcine xenograft wound dressing derived from pig skin, specifically processed to serve as a biological skin substitute. Developed and manufactured by Mölnlycke Health Care, it is primarily indicated for the treatment of partial-thickness burns, donor sites, and other skin injuries. The product acts as a temporary wound covering that maintains a moist environment conducive to re-epithelialization and the growth of granulation tissue, while simultaneously reducing pain and fluid loss. It can also be utilized as a temporary cover prior to autografting or as a protective layer over meshed autografts. It is chemically cross-linked porcine fetal dermis and is categorized as a skin substitute and biological dressing.
