Overview

EZ-T is a fixed-dose combination (FDC) pharmaceutical product developed by Hanmi Pharmaceutical, primarily marketed in South Korea. It contains two active ingredients: telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), and ezetimibe, a cholesterol absorption inhibitor. The medication is indicated for the treatment of patients with concomitant hypertension and primary hypercholesterolemia (or dyslipidemia). Telmisartan works by selectively blocking the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, leading to vasodilation and reduced blood pressure. Ezetimibe inhibits the Niemann-Pick C1-Like 1 (NPC1L1) protein at the brush border of the small intestine, thereby reducing the absorption of biliary and dietary cholesterol. By addressing both blood pressure and lipid levels in a single tablet, EZ-T aims to simplify treatment regimens and improve patient adherence in individuals with multiple cardiovascular risk factors.
