Ezaladcigene resoparvovec is an investigational gene therapy designed to treat Parkinson's disease. It uses an adeno-associated virus serotype 2 (AAV2) vector to deliver the human aromatic L-amino acid decarboxylase (AADC) gene directly into the putamen region of the brain. The therapy aims to restore levels of the enzyme L-amino acid decarboxylase, which is critical for converting levodopa into dopamine—a neurotransmitter deficient in Parkinson’s disease.
