Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Ezepheno** is an oral fixed-dose lipid-lowering combination of **ezetimibe** and **fenofibrate** developed by Hyundai Pharmaceutical. Ezetimibe inhibits intestinal cholesterol absorption through Niemann-Pick C1-Like 1, while fenofibrate is a peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha agonist that improves triglyceride-rich lipoprotein metabolism. The product was evaluated as HDDO-1756 against loose co-administration of its individual components in a completed Phase 1 pharmacokinetic study and was subsequently approved in South Korea as Ezepheno for mixed hyperlipidemia.
