ezetimibe + rosuvastatin (Daewoong Pharmaceutical)

Crezet is a fixed-dose combination (FDC) tablet containing ezetimibe and rosuvastatin calcium, developed by Daewoong Pharmaceutical for the management of dyslipidemia. Rosuvastatin is an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor that lowers cholesterol by inhibiting its synthesis in the liver and increasing the number of LDL receptors on the cell surface. Ezetimibe is a selective cholesterol absorption inhibitor that targets the Niemann-Pick C1-like 1 (NPC1L1) protein in the small intestine, reducing the delivery of intestinal cholesterol to the liver. By combining these two mechanisms, Crezet provides a dual approach to lowering low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels more effectively than either agent alone. It is primarily marketed in South Korea for patients with primary hypercholesterolemia or mixed dyslipidemia.
