EZPLAZ

**EZPLAZ** is an investigational single-donor freeze-dried plasma (FDP) product developed by Teleflex (originally by Vascular Solutions, acquired by Teleflex in 2017) for rapid reconstitution and transfusion in prehospital and austere environments, particularly for treating hemorrhagic shock and coagulopathy in major trauma patients. It preserves coagulation factors, fibrinogen, and other plasma proteins similar to fresh frozen plasma (FFP), with rapid reconstitution in about 67 seconds using sterile water, enabling faster delivery than FFP. EZPLAZ underwent a Phase 1 safety trial confirming tolerability up to 810 mL doses, a biologics license application submission to the FDA in early 2021, and as of recent reports, remains in FDA approval process without full approval; it is designed for centralized production and ABO type-specific use, complementing Teleflex's emergency medical portfolio like EZ-IO.[1][2][3][5][7]
