Drug intelligence / Profile preview
F-02-2-Na is an orally administered small molecule URAT1 inhibitor developed by Guangdong Hengqin Novagains Biopharmaceutical for the treatment of hyperuricemia and gout. The drug targets the Solute Carrier Family 22 Member 12 (SLC22A12), also known as Urate Transporter 1 (URAT1), which is primarily expressed in the proximal tubules of the kidney. By inhibiting URAT1, F-02-2-Na prevents the reabsorption of uric acid from the urine into the blood, thereby promoting uric acid excretion and reducing serum urate levels. It is currently undergoing Phase 1 clinical trials to evaluate its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetic profile, including the impact of food on its bioavailability.
