Overview

F-15599 (also known as NLX-101) is a potent and highly selective small molecule agonist of the serotonin 5-HT1A receptor. It exhibits functional selectivity (biased agonism), preferentially activating postsynaptic 5-HT1A receptors in the prefrontal cortex over somatodendritic autoreceptors. This pharmacological profile is thought to offer therapeutic advantages for mood disorders by enhancing antidepressant effects while minimizing typical serotonergic side effects. F-15599 has been investigated for potential use in treating depression, schizophrenia, cognitive disorders, Rett syndrome, and fragile X syndrome[1][2][4][5][6]. The compound was developed by Neurolixis[4].
