Drug intelligence / Profile preview
F-5 is a hematinic combination product manufactured by P&B Pharmaceuticals, primarily marketed in West African regions such as Nigeria. It is formulated as an oral tablet containing ferrous fumarate (200 mg) as a source of elemental iron, combined with a specific complex of B-vitamins: thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), pyridoxine (B6), cyanocobalamin (B12), and folic acid (B9). The product is indicated for the prevention and treatment of iron-deficiency anemia and associated nutritional vitamin deficiencies. It is commonly used to support increased nutritional demands during pregnancy, lactation, and convalescence. By providing both the iron necessary for hemoglobin synthesis and the essential vitamins required for effective erythropoiesis and cellular metabolism, F-5 helps restore healthy red blood cell levels and overall nutritional status.
