Drug intelligence / Profile preview
F10 is an oral fullerene-based therapeutic candidate being developed by Beijing Funakang Biotechnology and Chifeng Funakang Biotechnology. It is currently in Phase I clinical development for the treatment of diarrhea secondary to systemic antitumor therapy (chemotherapy-induced diarrhea). As a fullerene derivative, F10 is designed to leverage the unique antioxidant properties of carbon nanoparticles to act as a potent scavenger of reactive oxygen species (ROS). By neutralizing ROS, the drug aims to mitigate oxidative stress and protect the gastrointestinal mucosa from damage caused by antineoplastic agents, thereby reducing the incidence and severity of treatment-induced diarrhea.
