F16-IL2 + paclitaxel is a combination therapy under clinical investigation for the treatment of advanced solid tumors. F16-IL2 is a recombinant antibody-cytokine fusion protein composed of the antibody fragment F16 (which targets the A1 domain of tenascin-C in tumor stroma) and human interleukin-2 (IL-2). This immunocytokine selectively localizes to tumor tissue and enhances immune-mediated anti-tumor activity. Paclitaxel is a well-established chemotherapeutic agent that inhibits cancer cell division by stabilizing microtubules, thereby blocking mitosis. The combination aims to leverage both direct cytotoxic effects from paclitaxel and immune activation from targeted IL-2 delivery via F16. Clinical studies have shown this regimen can be safely administered with manageable toxicity profiles in patients with progressive solid tumors[4][3][5]. Paclitaxel is marketed under brand names such as Taxol and Onxol.
