Drug intelligence / Profile preview
F2001 is an immune-modulating drug candidate developed by the French biotechnology startup FindImmune. It is designed to treat inflammatory lung diseases, specifically targeting respiratory distress syndromes and inflammatory lesions associated with viral infections such as SARS-CoV-2. The drug's mechanism of action involves modulating an undisclosed immune checkpoint to reprogram pro-inflammatory alveolar macrophages into an anti-inflammatory phenotype within the deep tissues of the affected lung. Identified as a repositioned molecule, F2001 has demonstrated the potential to reduce lung inflammation and inhibit SARS-CoV-2 replication. The development of F2001 was supported by funding from Bpifrance to address urgent needs in respiratory distress and viral-induced lung injury.
