Drug intelligence / Profile preview
F8scFv is a recombinant human single-chain variable fragment (scFv) antibody developed by Var2 Pharmaceuticals. It specifically targets oncofetal chondroitin sulfate (ofCS), a unique glycosaminoglycan modification found on a variety of proteoglycans across many different cancer types but absent from normal tissues. By binding to ofCS, F8scFv can be used as a targeting moiety for the delivery of therapeutic payloads (such as toxins in antibody-drug conjugates) or as a diagnostic tool. The drug is being investigated for a broad range of solid tumors, including colorectal, pancreatic, and lung carcinomas, as well as sarcomas like chondrosarcoma and osteosarcoma, where ofCS is highly expressed. F8scFv was identified through phage display and is designed to serve as a high-affinity targeting component for various therapeutic modalities.
