Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**FabenFLU** is a polyclonal antibody fragment (F(ab')2) immunotherapy developed by Fabentech for post-exposure treatment of H5N1 avian influenza infection, a highly pathogenic virus with up to 60% human mortality and no approved treatments available. Produced using the proprietary FabShield® platform, it neutralizes over 20 H5N1 viral strains by binding multiple epitopes, offering broad protection against variants with improved tissue penetration and low immunogenicity compared to whole antibodies. It has completed development, achieved Phase I clinical safety validation, and received EU Orphan Drug Designation, positioning it as a stockpiled medical countermeasure for potential pandemics.
