Factor VII is a vitamin K-dependent glycoprotein and one of the essential blood coagulation factors. It plays a critical role in the initiation of the extrinsic pathway of blood coagulation by binding to tissue factor (TF) at sites of vascular injury. The complex formed between activated Factor VII (factor VIIa) and tissue factor activates Factor X to Xa and Factor IX to IXa, leading to thrombin generation and fibrin clot formation[1][6]. Recombinant forms such as recombinant human coagulation Factor VIIa are used therapeutically for treating bleeding episodes in patients with hemophilia A or B with inhibitors, congenital Factor VII deficiency, and Glanzmann's thrombasthenia[1][3][7][8].
