HA TECH's Coagulation Factors (VIII and IX) are blood plasma-derived proteins developed for the treatment of hemophilia and other clotting disorders. Coagulation Factor VIII (antihemophilic factor) is a critical cofactor in the intrinsic pathway of the coagulation cascade, and its replacement is the standard of care for patients with Hemophilia A. Coagulation Factor IX (Christmas factor) is a serine protease also involved in the intrinsic pathway, used as replacement therapy for patients with Hemophilia B. These products are intended to restore normal hemostasis by providing the deficient clotting factors necessary for fibrin clot formation, thereby preventing or controlling bleeding episodes in affected individuals.
