Fagus grandifolia pollen extract

Fagus grandifolia pollen is an allergenic extract derived from the pollen of the Fagus grandifolia plant, also known as the American beech tree. [12] It is a biologic product approved under a Biologic License Application and has been marketed since 1941. This extract is used for both diagnosing and treating immediate hypersensitivity allergies to beech tree pollen. [1, 3] As a diagnostic tool, it is applied via skin tests to confirm sensitivity. [1, 3, 5] For therapeutic purposes, it is used in allergen immunotherapy, where repeated and gradually increasing doses are administered to desensitize the immune system. [1, 3] This desensitization process works by modulating the body's immune response to the pollen, particularly by shifting away from an IgE-mediated allergic reaction towards a state of tolerance. [1, 14]
