Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fangxiang Wentong is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) prescription, with Kuanxiong Aerosol being a specific formulation. It is a compound preparation consisting of five traditional Chinese medicines: Herba Asari, Rhizoma Alpiniae Officinarum, Lignum Santali Albi, Fructus Piperis Longi, and Borneolum. It has been traditionally used for conditions like angina pectoris and is currently under investigation for coronary microvascular disease (CMVD). Its therapeutic effects are attributed to multiple mechanisms including anti-myocardial ischemia, anti-inflammation, anti-oxidation, improvement of endothelial function, and immune modulation via the NOTCH1 pathway. It also influences various biomarkers such as Endothelin-1, C-reactive protein, and Nitric Oxide.
