Overview
Fangzhi Guoji formula granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal preparation developed by Guangdong Maternal and Child Health Hospital for the prevention and treatment of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS). OHSS is a potentially life-threatening complication of controlled ovarian stimulation used in assisted reproductive technologies such as in vitro fertilization (IVF) and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). The formula is provided in a concentrated granule form, which is a modern preparation of traditional decoction pieces, intended to improve patient compliance and standardized dosing. It is specifically studied in women with high serum estradiol levels who are at increased risk for OHSS, aiming to modulate the systemic response to hormonal stimulation and reduce the incidence of severe symptoms.
