FAPI-GO is a fibroblast activation protein (FAP)-targeted radiopharmaceutical developed by SOFIE. It is designed to bind specifically to FAP, an enzyme highly expressed on cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) within the tumor stroma of various solid tumors, including gastroesophageal cancers. By targeting the tumor microenvironment rather than the malignant cells themselves, FAPI-GO facilitates the delivery of a radioactive payload directly to FAP-expressing tissues. The agent is currently in Phase 3 clinical development for applications in gastroesophageal cancers, where it is being evaluated for its potential in targeted imaging or therapy within the itheranostics framework.
