Drug intelligence / Profile preview
FAPI-PRO is a fibroblast activation protein (FAP)-targeted radiopharmaceutical developed by SOFIE. It is designed to bind to FAP, a protein highly expressed on cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) within the tumor microenvironment of various solid tumors, including pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). The agent delivers a radioactive payload to FAP-expressing cells, facilitating either targeted radiation therapy or high-contrast diagnostic imaging. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 3 clinical trials for the management of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, where it is primarily utilized as a diagnostic imaging agent to improve tumor detection and staging.
