Overview
FAPXIL is an investigational oral immune therapy being developed by TherapyX for the treatment of Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP) and colorectal cancer. The drug consists of interleukin-10 (IL-10), an anti-inflammatory cytokine, encapsulated in poly-lactic acid (PLA) microparticles using the proprietary EXStaM technology platform. FAPXIL is designed for oral delivery with sustained release in the gut, where it modulates immune responses by regulating stimulatory immune cells and enhancing suppressive regulatory T cells. It has received FDA Orphan Drug Designation for FAP and is currently in preclinical development.
