Overview

Farletuzumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody (IgG1) that targets the folate receptor alpha (FRα), which is overexpressed in various epithelial cancers, including ovarian cancer. It works through mechanisms such as antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) and complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC). Farletuzumab has been explored in clinical trials for epithelial ovarian cancer, often in combination with chemotherapy agents like carboplatin and paclitaxel.
