Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Farolax** is an oral bowel-cleansing fixed-dose laxative preparation from Faromed for clearance of the bowel before radiography, endoscopy, surgery, and colonoscopy in adults. Each two-sachet pack contains sodium picosulfate 10 mg, magnesium oxide 3.5 g, and citric acid 12 g. Sodium picosulfate acts as a stimulant laxative after colonic activation, while magnesium oxide and citric acid generate an osmotic magnesium citrate solution that retains water in the intestinal lumen and promotes evacuation.
