Faromada

Faromada is a novel, single-molecule dual-acting angiotensin receptor-neprilysin inhibitor (ARNI) being developed by Faromed for the management of heart failure and hypertension. Unlike the first-in-class ARNI sacubitril/valsartan, which is a supramolecular complex consisting of two separate drug entities, Faromada is engineered as a single small molecule that simultaneously targets two key pathways in cardiovascular pathophysiology. It inhibits the enzyme neprilysin (neutral endopeptidase), thereby increasing the levels of beneficial natriuretic peptides that promote vasodilation and natriuresis. Simultaneously, it acts as an antagonist at the angiotensin II type 1 (AT1) receptor, blocking the harmful effects of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) such as vasoconstriction, fluid retention, and cardiac remodeling. This integrated pharmacological profile is intended to provide a more streamlined and potentially more effective therapeutic option for patients with chronic heart failure.
