Drug intelligence / Profile preview
FARVAC AE is a live attenuated viral vaccine developed by FARVET for the prevention of Avian Encephalomyelitis (AE) in poultry. The vaccine targets the Avian Encephalomyelitis Virus (AEV), a picornavirus that causes significant neurological disease in young chicks and a drop in egg production in adult layers. By utilizing a live attenuated strain of the virus, the vaccine stimulates a robust and long-lasting immune response, including both humoral and cellular components. It is primarily indicated for use in breeders and commercial layers prior to the onset of egg production to provide active immunity to the birds and passive immunity to their progeny via maternal antibodies. The vaccine is typically administered via drinking water or other mass-application methods common in poultry management.
