Overview

FAST (Fragmented Autoantigen Stimulated T-cell Immunotherapy) is a personalized autologous cancer vaccine platform developed by Dr. Fengming Kong at The University of Hong Kong. The vaccine is designed to address tumor heterogeneity by utilizing fragmented autoantigens derived from a patient's own tumor tissue to stimulate a broad T-cell response. This approach aims to provide comprehensive antigen coverage and rapid preparation compared to traditional neoantigen vaccines. In clinical settings, it is frequently evaluated in combination with radiotherapy (the FAST-CR protocol), where radiation is used to "fuel" the release of antigens that are then targeted by the vaccine-stimulated immune system. It is currently in Phase I/II development for various advanced or recurrent solid tumors, including breast cancer, colorectal cancer, melanoma, and lung cancer.
