Overview

FAT1 siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to target and silence the expression of the FAT1 (FAT atypical cadherin 1) gene. FAT1 is an atypical cadherin that has been identified as an oncogene in various cancers, including glioblastoma, where it promotes tumor growth and maintains an immunosuppressive microenvironment. By silencing FAT1, this siRNA reduces the expression of pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines (such as TGF-β, IL-10, and PD-L1), thereby potentially reversing the immunosuppressive milieu and inhibiting gliomagenesis. This research is primarily associated with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
