Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This drug is a combination of **favezelimab** (an anti-LAG-3 monoclonal antibody), **pembrolizumab** (an anti-PD-1 monoclonal antibody), and **tretinoin** (all-trans retinoic acid, a retinoid). Favezelimab and pembrolizumab work as checkpoint inhibitors to enhance antitumor immune responses: favezelimab targets **LAG-3** (lymphocyte activation gene-3) on immune cells to restore T cell function, while pembrolizumab blocks **PD-1** to prevent T cell inhibition. Tretinoin induces terminal differentiation and inhibits proliferation of malignant hemopoietic precursor cells through retinoic acid receptor (RAR) activation. This combination is under investigation for hematologic malignancies and solid tumors, though evidence for this exact three-drug combination is limited, with most data focusing on two-drug combinations.
