Overview

Fazpilodemab is a humanized, agonistic bispecific monoclonal antibody that targets fibroblast growth factor receptor 1c (FGFR1c) and Klotho beta (KLB). It was developed for the treatment of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), with additional investigation in type 2 diabetes mellitus and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Fazpilodemab acts as an agonist at FGFR1c/KLB complexes, aiming to reduce liver fat and improve metabolic parameters. The drug was developed by Genentech, a subsidiary of Roche. Clinical development reached phase II for NASH but was terminated due to strategic business reasons[1][3][4][5].
