Drug intelligence / Profile preview
FB-1071 is a small molecule inhibitor of the c-Abl (Abelson tyrosine kinase) being developed by Fubei Biopharmaceutical Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. for the treatment of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). c-Abl is a non-receptor tyrosine kinase that is often overactivated in the central nervous system under pathological conditions, leading to the phosphorylation and aggregation of proteins like TDP-43, as well as promoting neuroinflammation and oxidative stress. By selectively inhibiting c-Abl, FB-1071 is designed to mitigate these neurotoxic processes and preserve motor neuron function. The candidate has received Investigational New Drug (IND) clearance from both the U.S. FDA and the Chinese NMPA and is currently undergoing Phase 1 clinical evaluation to assess its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics.
