Overview

FB Plus (also written as FBPlus) is an allogeneic cell therapy product consisting of an epidermal and dermal substitute containing allogeneic fibroblasts. Developed by HMG Biologics (the Italian operating company of KCFB) in collaboration with Swiss Stem Cells Biotech, FB Plus is designed for the treatment of chronic wounds, including chronic leg and foot ulcers (chronic lower limb ulcers) and bedsores. The therapy utilizes human cells as biocarriers of alarmins, specifically HMGB1 group proteins, which promote tissue regeneration and repair by restoring the normal microenvironment of the wound bed. FB Plus has been applied to over 1,500 patients under Italian Medicines Agency (AIFA) authorization, demonstrating significant clinical efficacy and safety, and is undergoing Phase 1/2 clinical development.
