Drug intelligence / Profile preview
FB7013 is an investigational small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic developed for the treatment of IgA Nephropathy (IgAN). Developed by Frontier Biotechnologies, the drug utilizes RNA interference to target and silence the expression of Complement Component 3 (C3), a central protein in the complement system. Overactivation of the complement pathway is a key driver of inflammation and kidney damage in patients with IgAN. By reducing C3 levels, FB7013 aims to mitigate glomerular injury and preserve renal function. The therapeutic is designed for long-acting efficacy, potentially allowing for an infrequent subcutaneous dosing schedule. As of late 2023, an Investigational New Drug (IND) application has been submitted for the candidate, marking its transition into clinical development.
