Overview

FB7024 is an investigational humanized monoclonal antibody developed by Frontier Biotechnologies for the treatment of hyperlipidemia. It specifically targets and inhibits proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9), a key regulator of cholesterol metabolism. By binding to PCSK9, FB7024 prevents it from mediating the degradation of low-density lipoprotein receptors (LDLR) on the surface of hepatocytes. This results in an increased density of LDL receptors, which enhances the clearance of circulating LDL cholesterol (LDL-C) from the bloodstream. FB7024 is designed as a long-acting therapy to provide sustained lipid-lowering effects, potentially offering a more convenient dosing schedule for patients with primary hypercholesterolemia or mixed dyslipidemia who require intensive LDL-C reduction.
