Overview

FBLN3 shRNA (lentiviral) is a gene-silencing tool designed to knock down the expression of fibulin-3 (FBLN3), an extracellular matrix glycoprotein. In the context of bladder cancer research, FBLN3 has been identified as a pro-invasive factor that is highly expressed in muscle-invasive transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) compared to non-muscle invasive stages. By utilizing a lentiviral vector to deliver short hairpin RNA (shRNA) targeting the FBLN3 transcript, researchers can achieve stable suppression of the protein. This knockdown has been shown to inhibit the migration and invasion of bladder cancer cell lines (such as T24 and UMUC-13) without affecting cell viability or growth rates, suggesting that FBLN3 is a potential therapeutic target for preventing cancer progression.
