Overview

FBP001 is a monoclonal antibody developed by FasT Biopharma for the treatment of ophthalmic diseases, specifically dry age-related macular degeneration (dry AMD) and glaucoma. The therapeutic candidate is designed for intravitreal administration and functions by binding to and blocking Fas Ligand (FasL), a protein that triggers apoptotic cell death. By inhibiting FasL-mediated signaling, FBP001 aims to prevent the loss of retinal cells associated with progressive vision impairment in these conditions. As of 2024, the program is in the preclinical stage, specifically undergoing hit identification.
