Overview

FC-12738 is a novel synthetic retro-inverso pentapeptide based on thymopentin, developed by Neurodegenerative Disease Research for the treatment of neuroinflammation and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The drug is designed to regulate the cell danger response via innate immune pathways, aiming to modulate T cell responses and neuroinflammatory processes implicated in ALS. Preclinical studies have demonstrated favorable pharmacokinetic properties and safety profiles in animal models. In humans, early clinical data indicate a plasma half-life of approximately 2.4–2.5 hours—significantly longer than native thymopentin—and good tolerability with no significant adverse events reported so far[1][6][7][8]. The drug is administered subcutaneously.
