Drug intelligence / Profile preview
FC-2.15 is a **monoclonal antibody** that specifically recognizes the Lewis x antigen (Le(x)-Ag) expressed on the cell surface of most human breast cancer cells. It exerts cytotoxic effects through complement-mediated cytotoxicity, targeting breast cancer cells that express the Le(x)-Ag. FC-2.15 has shown additive cytotoxicity when used in combination with chemotherapeutic agents such as adriamycin and taxol, making it a potential therapeutic for use in patients with breast cancers resistant to these drugs. The expression of the target antigen is retained even after standard chemotherapy[1].
