Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fc AAT is a recombinant alpha-1 antitrypsin (AAT) molecule fused with the Fc region of an immunoglobulin G1 (IgG1), developed by Omni Bio Pharmaceutical. This fusion aims to enhance its potency, extend its duration of action, and enable patient-friendly subcutaneous dosing compared to plasma-derived AAT products. Its primary mechanism involves inhibiting serine proteases, particularly neutrophil elastase, thereby protecting tissues from proteolytic damage. Additionally, Fc AAT exhibits anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties, including the suppression of pro-inflammatory cytokines and modulation of immune cell receptors. It is being developed for indications such as Type 1 diabetes, graft versus host disease, gouty arthritis, and emphysema.
