Overview

FCD105 is an investigational fixed-dose topical foam combining 3% minocycline, a tetracycline-class antibiotic with anti-inflammatory properties, and 0.3% adapalene, a third-generation retinoid that activates retinoic acid receptors to normalize keratinization and reduce comedones, being developed for the treatment of moderate-to-severe acne vulgaris.[5][8] The formulation was originally created by Foamix (now part of Menlo Therapeutics) using its proprietary Molecule Stabilizing Technology and is currently being advanced by Journey Medical Corporation.[1][5][8] In a randomized phase 2 trial in moderate-to-severe acne vulgaris, FCD105 foam demonstrated superior Investigator’s Global Assessment treatment success and lesion count reductions versus vehicle, supporting its potential as a once-daily topical combination therapy addressing both follicular hyperkeratinization and Cutibacterium acnes–driven inflammation.[2][5][10]
