FCR002

FCR002 is an investigational allogeneic cell therapy developed by Talaris Therapeutics for the induction of immune tolerance in deceased donor kidney transplant recipients. Utilizing the company's Facilitated Allo-Chimeric Therapy (FACT) platform, FCR002 consists of a proprietary composition of donor-derived CD34+ hematopoietic stem cells, facilitating cells, and αβ T cells. The therapy is designed to establish stable hematopoietic chimerism in the recipient, potentially eliminating the need for lifelong immunosuppressive medication by training the recipient's immune system to recognize the donor organ as self. While FCR001 was the lead candidate for living donor transplants, FCR002 was optimized for the deceased donor setting. Development of the program was discontinued in 2023 following a strategic review by Talaris Therapeutics.
