Drug intelligence / Profile preview
FDgard is a medical food/dietary supplement specifically formulated for the dietary management of functional dyspepsia (FD) and meal-triggered indigestion. It contains a combination of caraway oil and l-Menthol, delivered via a patented Site-Specific Targeting (SST) technology. This technology utilizes triple-coated microspheres to ensure the active herbal ingredients are released in the upper digestive tract (duodenum), where they work to relax the smooth muscles of the stomach and improve gastric accommodation. Developed by Nestlé Health Science, FDgard is intended to manage symptoms such as bloating, nausea, early satiety, and upper abdominal pain.
