Overview

FE 106483 is a novel, potent, and selective vasopressin V2 receptor agonist developed by Ferring Pharmaceuticals. It is designed to mimic the antidiuretic action of the natural hormone arginine vasopressin by binding to V2 receptors in the renal collecting ducts. This activation promotes the insertion of aquaporin-2 water channels into the apical membrane, increasing water reabsorption and thereby reducing urine volume. FE 106483 has been primarily investigated for the treatment of nocturnal enuresis (bedwetting) in children, with the aim of providing a more targeted therapeutic profile compared to existing treatments like desmopressin. The compound was evaluated in the Phase 2 PEACE study (NCT02484001), which focused on its pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics in pediatric populations.
