Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Fe-Qur NCNs** are ultrasmall iron-quercetin natural coordination nanoparticles developed as a preclinical intra-articular nanomedicine for rheumatoid arthritis. The iron-coordinated quercetin nanocomplex improves quercetin water solubility and biocompatibility while retaining antioxidant activity. In cellular and collagen-induced arthritis mouse studies, it scavenged excess reactive oxygen species, reduced nuclear factor kappa B pathway activation and inflammatory macrophage polarization, increased anti-inflammatory macrophage phenotypes, and reduced osteoclast-associated bone erosion. No human clinical development, marketed product, or assigned INN was identified.
