Overview

Fecal bacteria solution is an investigational microbiome-based therapy consisting of a complex community of functional microbiota derived from the feces of healthy donors. Developed by Shanghai Tenth People's Hospital, the preparation is a 20 ml solution frozen at -80°C and thawed prior to administration via a gastrointestinal tube. The therapy is designed to restore intestinal microbial diversity and reconstruct the gut microecological structure in critically ill patients. By replenishing healthy flora, it aims to enhance the systemic immune response and facilitate the clearance of sepsis-related pathogens. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials for the treatment of sepsis and severe infections in intensive care settings.
