Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fecal Microbial Transplantation (FMT) by Ella Therapeutics is a live biotherapeutic product consisting of fecal microbiota derived from healthy donors. It is designed to modulate the gut microbiome ecosystem to overcome resistance to immune checkpoint inhibitors, specifically anti-PD-1 therapies like nivolumab. The therapy aims to restore a favorable microbial environment that promotes systemic immune activation. It is currently being investigated in a Phase Ib clinical trial for patients with metastatic or inoperable melanoma, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), and microsatellite instability-high (MSI-H) or mismatch-repair deficient (dMMR) solid tumors who are refractory to prior immunotherapy.
