Developed by researchers at Shanghai Tenth People's Hospital, the treatment aims to address the severe gut dysbiosis and gastrointestinal symptoms frequently observed in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The human intestinal fluid is hypothesized to provide a supportive biochemical environment—rich in enzymes, bile acids, and antimicrobial peptides—that enhances the engraftment and functional activity of the transplanted microbiota, thereby modulating the gut-brain axis and potentially improving behavioral symptoms of autism.
